OWR NBC Protection and Mobile Decontamination Systems
OWR is a market leader in the manufacturing of nuclear, biological and chemical decontamination for equipment, personnel, vehicles, buildings and terrain, with products ranging from lightweight, transportable decontamination equipment to container-based systems. OWR's proprietary low-pressure DEDAS system enables the rapid and real-time mixing automatically of most known decontamination solutions including foams.
Utilising an electronic control system which can be re-programmed to include new solutions, no pre-measuring of ingredients is required. To apply pre-mixed solutions and compliment the DEDAS system, OWR have designed the UAM which like the DEDAS can be use independently or integrated into the MPD 100, OWR's Multi Purpose Decontamination System which is housed in a 20ft ISO container.
The combination of the DEDAS and UAM now make the MPD 100 one of the most advanced decontamination systems on the market.
OWRs trusted, reliable decontamination systems are widely deployed in both civil defence projects and military operations across the globe and the majority of OWR systems have been listed with NSN codes.
Mobile Decontamination Systems
OWR's DEDAS disaster management system provides a comprehensive solution for low-pressure blending of foam, emulsions and diluted compounds for large- and small-scale decontamination. The DEDAS system can process up to 200 litres per minute and can operate using seawater. DEDAS (NSN 4230-12-366-1563) can either function as a standalone device, or integrated with a truck, trailer or container module.
The Fogbooster has been newly developed to replace the successful Turbofogger (NSN 4230-01-499-5615). Whereas the Turbofogger used an electric motor, the Fogbooster has been designed to use compressed air and can used together with a standard SCBA system. The Fogbooster is explosion proof and ideal for applying the OWR decontamination solution GD-6 in areas at risk from fire or explosion.
The Cobra (NSN 4230-01-499-5608) is a compact decontamination system featuring a lightweight aerosol dispenser for GD-6 decontaminant. The system is small enough to be carried on a belt and is non-pressurised making ideal for fast deployment with troops via aircraft. The system is readied for use using an integrated hand pump and is very safe to handle, making it ideal as a first response decontamination solution.
The Decofogger (NSN 4230-01-499-5612) is a mobile decontamination system deployed around the world with the GD-6 decontaminant solution. The system creates a decontamination fog with 1 micrometer droplets for effective decontamination of even the most inaccessible areas of equipment, vehicles and terrain. The droplets form an ultra-thin coating over exposed surfaces, helping to safeguard the environment and reduce operating expenses.
The MPD 100 system is deployed in a 20 foot ISO container. The MPD100 (NSN 4230-12-355-7997) can run self-sufficiently for over 30 minutes before requiring external logistics and has a capacity of up to 6 km³/h, 20 light vehicles per hour or over 200 people per hour. Despite its size, the system is easily transportable and can be set up in 20 minutes and operated using just 4 personnel.
Decontaminants: OWR have a range of proprietary decontamination solutions headed by their highly successful GD-6 chemical decontamination agent (NSN 6850-12-377-2705).
CBRN Training and Services
OWR provides specialist CBRN training and services to support their range of decontamination systems which includes operator and maintenance training at all levels. Training can be either made at the customer's premises or in the OWR dedicated training centre. Training includes not only hands-on use of the equipment but also the theoretical and historical background to the world of CBRN.
