IDS is an independent system engineering company operating in both defence and civilian fields with its staff of three hundred, mostly graduated in electronics, electromagnetic and aerospace engineering. IDS has been providing high technology engineering consultancy and integrated software and hardware system solutions since it was founded in 1980. The company is organised into four business lines:

Naval Electromagnetic

The Naval Division supports and advises navies, shipyards and the naval industry in optimising the naval electromagnetic (EM) performance.

Due to experience gained through 25 years of total electromagnetic ship design, the division’s highly qualified team performs the electromagnetic risk management of naval projects, supplies a family of customizable software frameworks to assist the EM design of ships, and offers customized experimental test set ups for ship EMC, RCS and IR Signature acceptance trials.

Aircraft Electromagnetic

The Aeronautical Division provides aeronautical industries and defence ministries with comprehensive engineering support including development of software products and consultancy services, in areas ranging from the development of flight control systems to aircraft electromagnetic design such as RCS/IR signature prediction and measurements, EMC/EMI analysis and antenna siting.

Aeronavigation

The Aeronavigation Division supports Air Navigation Service Providers and Civil and Military aviation agencies with integrated software systems for aeronautical information management, instrument flight procedure design and ground validation, airspace design and management, for  the assessment of the performances of navigation and surveillance systems and for the implementation of RNAV concepts and infrastructure. The division supplies its professional commercial solutions and services worldwide, tailoring them to ANSP and agencies specific needs and workflows.

Ground Probing Radar

The GeoRadar Division designs, manufactures and sells its comprehensive suite of Ground Probing Radar equipment for performing non- destructive investigations for surveying utilities buried under roads, buildings and bridge structures and archaeological sites. In addition, the new IBIS range, applying innovative microwave interferometry, provides monitoring solutions for landslides and building and bridge vibrations.

Proprietary Software tools are developed documented and maintained according to ISO 9001:2000, ESA and Defence Administration quality and security standards.
