Vectronix has its roots in the military survey activities of Wild Heerbrugg, respectively Leica Geosystems, was spun off as Leica Vectronix in 2002, and shortened its name to Vectronix AG on 1 August 2003.
Vectronix AG, Heerbrugg, Switzerland, emanates from the defense business of Wild Heerbrugg, became a part of Leica Geosystems and currently belongs to the SAFRAN Group. It provides rugged, handheld, day and night observation and field measurement devices. These include image intensified night vision goggles, binoculars and pocket scopes, as well as binocular and monocular laser rangefinders.
VECTOR rangefinder binoculars, the flagship product, are fielded by the armed forces of more than fifty nations and equally appreciated by scientists and explorers in harsh environments. Tripod mounted high precision orientation, surveying and target acquisition systems continue to be a specialty of Vectronix, while digital magnetic compass and laser range finder modules are used by system integrators in various soldier modernization programs and handheld optronic devices.
Vectronix is a world-leader in the design, development and production of electro-optical components and systems. Armed forces are the principal end-users of our COTS (Commercial off-the-shelf software or hardware products that are ready-made and available products for observation, orientation and rangefinding, while systems integrators use our modules to provide distance and angle data within their host systems.
