UltraCell has developed a revolutionary reformed methanol micro fuel cell technology which has clearly demonstrated "leap ahead" improvements in energy density and weight savings relative to batteries and other fuel cell technologies.
Key developmental customers to date include world wide militaries and prime contractors, first responders, Mobile satellite terminal manufacturers and notebook computer suppliers.
XX25 is a 25 Watt fuel cell system that is small enough to fit into the vest pocket of a ground soldier. The entire system, including one 180 WHr fuel cartridge, weights approximately 1.3 Kilograms and can operate from -20°C to +49°C in any orientation while powering a laptop for up to 8 hours. Hot-Swap in new cartridges and the system will provide power indefinitely.
UltraCell's XX25 systems are fueled with easy-to-use methanol fuel cartridges weighing approximately one-half pound which are highly reliable and rugged.
XX25 is currently being manufactured at UltraCell's pilot line facilities in Livermore, California. The Company is developing and refining highly automated and scaleable manufacturing processes for its fuel cell core engine which is to be transferred to its manufacturing plant in the State of Ohio in 2007.
