Ultra Electronics - TCS is a world class supplier of software defined high capacity radios. Based in Montreal, Quebec, the company is a Division of Ultra Electronics Canada Defence Inc.and specializes in the provision of Area Communication Systems, transmission subsystems and LOS radio products for tactical military deployment.
Ultra-TCS is prime contractor for the AN/TRC-190 and 198 transmission systems in the U.S. JNN/WIN-T program and supplies the AN/GRC-245 radio for the Patriot missile system. Recently Ultra-TCS was awarded 
contracts to supply the software programmable (SCA), 16 Mb/s, AN/GRC-245A HCLOS™ radio to the US Marine Corps and the Canadian Army. Ultra TCS has also recently supplied transit case communications terminals with an On-The-Move capability to DND for a NATO task force deployment.
In the rest of the world Ultra-TCS is supplying AN/GRC-512 ECCM tactical radios to South Korea, our HCLOS™ radios to the UK and other countries in Asia and South America, and communication terminals to the Middle East.

Area Communication Systems
Our Multi-Media Area Communication System (MMACS) provides wide area communications for tactical deployments at Battalion, Brigade and Division. The system provides a high capacity backbone communications network using the HCLOS™ radio and an IP based switching core. The system provides VoIP telephony for the Command Posts together with C4ISR data exchange and video conferencing.
Radio Relay sub-systems
We have delivered tactical radio relay sub-systems to a number of Air Defense and Army systems. These systems are contained in shelters or transit cases and contain radios, masts antennas and ancillaries necessary to support the transmission system. By custom designing each installation we ensure that the sub-system offers the customer the best operational performance in his environment.
High Capacity Radio (HCR)
Our latest product is the common platform HCR. This radio incorporates the best features of our AN/GRC-245 HCLOS and AN/GRC-512 ECCM radio, and is designed to provide reliable high capacity communication in tactical area communication systems and border surveillance systems. The software defined HCR radio supports multiple waveforms to suit different operational needs and traffic rates up to 34 Mb/s. The radio operates in the 4400-5000 MHz frequency range.
AN/GRC-245A HCLOS™ Radio
The AN/GRC-245A High Capacity Line of Sight (HCLOS™) radio is a software defined multi-channel radio that is available in Band 1 (224-400MHz), Band 3+ (1350 -2690MHz) and Band 4 (4400-5000MHz) The radio uses the US JTRS SCA V2.2 architecture for waveform flexibility and supports multiple waveforms and full duplex transmission rates up to 34 Mb/s. The radio will support both serial trunk groups and Ethernet traffic allowing it to bridge between the existing serial based systems and the new IP based systems.
