Ultra Electronics - DNE Technologies has been manufacturing communication systems, as well as avionic sensors and controllers, since 1951. DNE manufactures network access products that accelerate the flow of information, assist in the transformation toward Net-Centric Warfare, and preserve interoperability with legacy equipment. Today, DNE provides strategic tactical equipment to allow the migration within the constraints of time and budget while upgrading the speed of and access to high-speed IP networks.
IP with Type 1 TRANSEC for Wireless Applications
DNE's new PacketAssure Service Delivery Manager guarantees delivery of priority traffic, providing efficient traffic management through Ethernet port prioritization. This allows strategic real-time services to use Type 1 TRANSEC, providing many wireless applications with tactical real-time network information. PacketAssure maintains separation of data streams without VPN overhead. This unit aggregates both legacy circuits and IP, providing deployed tactical communications equipment access to high-speed networks and supports both IP(v)4 and IP(v)6 protocols.
Bandwidth Conservation
DNE manufactures quality products such as data and voice multiplexers and multiservice access concentrators with unique tactical interfaces for optimal bandwidth conservation. DNE's product interfaces support V.34 FNBDT Secure Compressed Voice, 20Mb CES for high-speed Cryptos, and singlemode and multimode to OC-3. Our multiservice access concentrators are fielded in Teleport, and many joint communications programs, allowing multiple traffic types access to a standard network using an efficient aggregate.
Media Conversion
DNE's NRZ/CDI/Fiber protocol converters offer the lowest cost of ownership on the market, with up to five individual channels per chassis. Circuit types can be changed by simply swapping modules without un-racking and re-cabling, allowing field personnel to change circuit cable types simply by changing a module, while the others remain active.
Modules support singlemode fiber, multi-mode fiber and JTC3A 9109C FOM NRZ-CDI-Fiber conversion at rates to 16.384Mbps, with a copper-only module supporting NRZ-CDI at rates to 4608kbps. The CV-MCU2 model also offers multiplexing in support of Trunk Groups, so that 4 circuits can be muxed onto one aggregate in a 1-U chassis. Finally, the CV-MCU2 provides the greatest interoperability of any media converter on the market with compatibilities to MD-1272, GSC-54, Canoga Perkins 2270 and a the DRS-Codem CT-100 series.
Avionic Sensors and Controllers
Ultra Electronics-DNE Technologies also manufactures a variety of avionic sensors, ice detectors and controller devices for various military fixed wing aircraft. DNE is a preferred vendor to Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, providing avionic sensors and controllers to the F-16, the F-18, and the F-22, as well as the A-10 and the B-1 and P2 programs.
DNE holds IDIQ contracts with both the US Army and the US Navy for all its communication products. All avionic products are bid individually.
In 2004, DNE Technologies became part of Ultra Electronics, a group of group of specialist businesses designing, manufacturing, and supporting electronic and electromechanical systems, sub-systems, and products for international defense and aerospace markets.
