SAI (Small Arms Industries) is a Danish based company that specializes in the development and manufacture of firearms sound suppressors. Since 1997 the company has been producing suppressors for the Scandinavian hunting markets. In 2005 the company entered the military market with products for 5.56mm assault rifles and 7.62 mm light machine guns (LMG). SAI is constantly testing new products – often in close cooperation with the Danish Army Combat Centre to ensure products with optimal endurance and performance.

Firearms Sound Suppressors / Silencers for Assault Rifles

The current line of 5.56 assault rifle suppressors is going into service with Danish army – and navy - Special Forces from 2007/2008, but has been developed from the philosophy that suppressors should be a natural accessory to any firearm. Thus the SAI suppressors are all build for harsh use in all service areas from ‘green army’ to special forces.

5.56mm and 7.62mm Assault Rifle Suppressors - SAI M80

Build for Colt M4, M16 and Colt Canada C7 and C8 type assault rifles (AR15) the SAI M80 5.56mm suppressors performs equal to other products from market leaders. The line consists of 3 different suppressors with different characteristics. The M80 L (long) is optimized for night time shooting as well as general use on shooting ranges. The M80 K (short) is optimized for standard all day (and night) use. The very short, but thicker M80 CQS (close quarter suppressor) is designed for personal protection teams and Special Forces that work from vehicles or in close quarter situation. The CQS is a product of modern warfare - and peace keeping situations - that often take place in and around city areas.

Quick Mount System for Standard Muzzle Compensators/Flash Hiders

The SAI quick mount utilizes the SAI patented ‘gas seal unit’. The gas seal effectively blocks all gasses and burnt/un-burnt powder from distracting/hitting the shooter when shooting as NO particles and gasses can escape from the SAI quick mount. The SAI quick mount allows for mounting in just seconds WITH OUT THE NEED FOR ANY WEAPON ALTERATIONS, as the quick mount is designed for use on standard M16A2 type muzzle compensators/flash hiders. SO – no need for special adaptors and gunsmith work on rifles.

The gas seal also ensures perfect alignment of the suppressor on to the riffle AND also helps to ensure the M80 suppressors’ very positive effect on the precision of the riffle due to the bullet stabilizing effect obtained by the ‘gas seal unit’.

Light Machine Guns Suppressors 5.56mm or 7.62mm

SAI have several products for light machine guns caliber 5.56 and 7.62. Available with different threads and mounts - and quick mount for M16A2 type bird cage (or similar) also - the machinegun suppressors are adoptable for just about any model in use. The SAI machinegun suppressors are very durable. The extreme durability is obtained by making the suppressors virtually ‘weld-free’. Using a crimping technique, when putting the suppressor together, enables the materials to work independent from each other in the immense heat generated when shooting.

Development: From 3D Design To Prototype Construction And Full Scale Production

In 2007 the people behind SAI launched a new project, offering sub-contracting services to the military industry and current industry suppliers. Thru the “HAG Group “ SAI can offer the services of some of the best 3D designers in Scandinavia as well as fast and effective prototype construction (turning, milling, laser cutting etc.), from highly qualified companies in the metal working industry. Full scale production can also be handled as either Danish production or Polish based production.
