Modular, Mobile Facilities
Mobile Shelter Systems (MSS) provides a wide range of solutions for mobile infrastructure. The main philosophy behind the MSS-concept is based on the idea of using the transport equipment as modules for different types of infrastructure ranging from simple tent solutions to advanced NBC and EMP secured building complexes. The mobile infrastructure is suitable for command and control facilities, field hospitals, hangars, kitchens, workshops, offices, accommodation etc. The main components in the MSS concept are patented.
The development of the MSS concept started in the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF) in 1995. The RNoAF has implemented the MSS concept. The prototype was tested during Exercise Dynamic Mix in Turkey in 1996. A complete set of the concept was delivered to the RNoAF Immediate Reaction Force Unit in August 1997 with a total of approximately 8,000m² of mobile infrastructure.
MSS was founded in 1997 by 3 of the officers in the RNoAF who had the responsibility for the development of the concept. MSS is co-operating with several other companies both in and outside of Norway. MSS is also supported by SND, a Norwegian Governmental Organisation.
