In 2000, following nearly a decade of strong growth, the Mediatek Group established its Rugged Computer Systems subsidiary, which specializes in the provision of rugged, MIL-SPEC-compliant computer systems and components for a wide range of military, defence and aerospace industry applications.

Building on the Mediatek Group’s proven success in identifying and responding to the needs of the commercial and corporate sectors, Mediatek Rugged Computer Systems proceeded to offer similar benefits to customers in more demanding market segments.
