Biotrace International Plc is acknowledged as the global leader in the development, manufacture and supply of easy to use, rapid tests for biological detection. The Biotrace Biological Detection System (BBDS) detects airborne biological agents, the Continuous Flow ATP Detector (CFAD) and Aqua-Trace® detect microbial contamination in water and Pro-tect® assesses the cleanliness of surfaces and equipment. Whilst our products are used in the defence industry we also supply systems for environmental, industrial and food hygiene monitoring.

The Company has 10 years' experience in developing and supplying generic biological monitoring systems for defence applications. Biotrace systems were deployed during the Gulf War in 1991 Biotrace has a dedicated team designing and providing state of the art detection systems to continuously monitor levels of biological agents in samples of air and water. The systems that have been developed can be placed at strategic locations to monitor and warn of any change in levels of biological activity.

Biotrace Biological Detection System (BBDS)

The BBDS is a modular non-specific airborne biological detection system, designed for use as a state-of-the-art early warning system.

The system comprises:

  • A high efficiency Intelligent Cyclone Air Sampler
  • A high sensitivity Continuous Flow ATP Detector

The BBDS can be used to discriminate between biological and background ATP providing results in near real-time. With the growing need to safeguard against the threat of biological weapons it is an invaluable system.
