Loos & Co., Inc. is a vertically integrated manufacturer of wire, wire rope, terminals and cable assemblies.  We have the capability to draw our own wire, strand into cable and sell in either bulk form or cut to length, and manufacture finished assemblies.  Our products are used in industries including aerospace, automotive, agricultural, industrial distributors, wire rope sling shops, sporting goods and marine. 

Loos is on the U.S. Government’s qualified producer list for the manufacture of MIL-DTL-83420 wire rope and is the only remaining manufacturer for many of the items on that list.  Loos’ cable products are used in flight controls in most worldwide aircraft.  Loos & Co. is registered to ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100, aerospace quality standard.

In 2007, Loos produced over 1 billion feet of stranded cable, had over 11 million pounds of wire drawn and annealed and produced over 2.7 million cable assemblies!

At Loos & Co., Inc. we draw our own wire from rod for our stainless steel and nickel alloy round wire.  Wire specialties include 302, 303, 304, 305, 316, 321, 347, 400 series stainless steel, MONEL^® and INCONEL^® alloys.  Our stainless steel safety locking wire used by the aircraft industry to secure all bolts, nuts, or hardware subject to vibrations, meets Spec. NASM02295 and Govt. Spec. QQW-423.

Aircraft Wire Rope Assemblies

Loos & Co., Inc. manufactures aircraft cable assemblies for primary applications as flight controls and secondary applications as lanyards, in landing gear and doors.  All assemblies are 100% proof loaded and tested.  Loos has a licensing agreement with Boeing and has FAA PMA to manufacture over 4000 Boeing commercial and military aircraft wire rope assemblies.

Loos is also a licensee of Lockheed Martin for C-130 wire rope assemblies.  Our cable assemblies made for the Department of Defense and other government agencies meet MIL-STD requirements for extreme environmental situations.  Some of Loos’ notable OEM customers include Lockheed, de Havilland, Sirkorsky, Boeing, Douglass, Shorts Brothers, Bombardier and many others. 

Steel Cable Assemblies

Loos & Co. produces steel cable assemblies for a wide variety of commercial and industrial applications including computer locking systems, farming equipment, industrial lifting products, building trades, sailboat rigging and many others.  The key to Loos’ success is finding niche markets that require very high quality products.

We are a specialty cable manufacturer with various swaging and machining capabilities. We utilize rotary swagers as well as slow acting presses to apply terminations to the steel cables. We also machine custom dies for special or unique fittings for one of a kind assemblies.
