Wibe is the leading global supplier of mobile telescopic masts. With over 60 years’ experience we have supplied thousands of masts to the armed forces worldwide. Our telescopic masts are designed to meet the most demanding requirements of modern communication and surveillance where they are used to support various types of payloads.

Mobile Telescopic Masts for Military and Emergency Services

Our Mobile Telescopic Masts for the military and emergency services are manufactured in the highest grade aluminum for all weather conditions and are up to 30 meters tall.

Wibe have supplied over 10,000 telescopic mobile masts. They are in operation with the emergency services worldwide e.g. forest fires, where they are used by mobile operators as back-up masts or as an alternative to re-tilting antennas at special events, by the police and, of course, the armed forces.

Military Telescopic Communication Masts

All of our telescopic masts, both military and commercial, feature the unique and proven all-weather design features of space between sections allowing the masts to be raised or lowered with an accretion of ice or sand. It has been proven that the masts perform excellently in arctic and tropical areas as well as in desert environments. The masts are light-weight, compact and easy to transport and erect.

Although Wibe provide a number of standardised products, we appreciate that no two customers are the same and therefore we can always offer you a tailored-made solution.

Excellent Torsional Resistance

All of our masts are made of extruded hexagonal and circular aluminium alloy tubes with screws and riveted fittings in stainless steel. The hexagonal sections move inside each other on plastic guide ways which provide the mast with excellent torsional resistance. The design with the free space between sections enables reliable operations in arctic through desert environments.

Vehicle Integration and Antenna Aiming Devices

We can provide far more than the mast itself. We know how to optimize strength and weight. We know how to design vehicle integration brackets and antenna aiming devices both electrical powered and manual. There are attachments available for various shelters, trailers and military vehicles and they can also be tailored to your specific requirement.

The antenna directioner operates by means of two separate rope-slings with different colors. It enables the antenna to rotate 360 degrees and to tilt ±10 degrees from the horizontal plane. Wibe also has a mast mounted double rotator which enables two separate antennas to rotate 360 degrees independent of each other. The parts are made of aluminium and stainless steel and are electrically or manually operated.

Communication Mast Stays, Anchors and Fixings

The mast is stayed at several levels an directions. The stays are connected to the stay anchors by stay tighteners. Stay wires are either cevlar or steel and the stay accessories are contained in a box.

Modern telescopic mast head load demands are increasing. Larger and heavier antennas, requiring more precise aiming, erected to greater heights by fewer crewmen are trends being experienced. To meet these requirements our masts can be deployed by a crew of one or two operators to quickly and safely deploy heavily loaded telescopic mast systems.
