Prioria Announces Maveric™: Next-Generation Micro Air Vehicle

Prioria has announced its new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), the 'Micro Air Vehicle Enabling Reconnaissance, Intelligence and Communication', or Maveric.

Micro Air Vehicle

The Maveric micro air vehicle employs breakthrough technology, called Merlin™, which combines an embedded-vision navigation system, dynamic user interface, and target tracking algorithms. The onboard Merlin processor uses EO-based sensors to autonomously interpret data and run algorithms to command the aircraft to not only avoid obstacles in flight (collision avoidance), but to simultaneously track moving or static ground targets.

Unlike other small UAVs that are reliant on a video downlink to the Ground Control Station (GCS) for target-tracking processing, Merlin prosecutes targets with slant range calculations and pixel correlations that are processed onboard the aircraft. Merlin then simultaneously downlinks target information to the GCS, which allows the operator to analyze, retask if necessary, and send commands back to the aircraft.

The Maveric Unmanned Aerial Vehicle also employs a proprietary bendable, carbon-fiber wing technology that allows the Maveric to be 'rolled' into a six-inch diameter tube; small enough to be transported and operated by a single soldier. No field assembly is required.
