Product Description:

The MPC8-1220 provides an unparalleled size, weight, & power combination. The Series has a multitude of configurations that can meet your specific needs. The models are defined by the Communication bands + RF power levels 80W, 100W, or 125W. The features & options are ideal for SATCOM systems serving military & commercial airborne & mobile platforms.

Performance Features:

Sophia's MPC8-1220 provides high data rate systems with up to 125 watts of power and 50 dB of gain. Temperature compensation circuitry minimizes gain & power variations, and the F&R power monitor supports system calibration & reverse power protection. Smart sensors in the RF assembly provide thermal protection, and the monitor & control circuit provides critical performance status for initial system integration and field use.

Monitor & Control Functions:

The monitor & control processor interfaces with a host computer. All voltage, current, power, and
temperature sensors are read through this interface, including the forward & reverse power
monitoring. The discrete mute control is opto-isolated for trouble-free system integration. The
RS422 port communications run at 9600 or 38400 baud, 8-bit word, no parity, and 1 stop bit.

Configuration Options:

Sophia's MPC8-1220 comes in two configurations: a [module based] component housing as shown
above and a [system based] outdoor enclosure with internal cooling (see outdoor SSPA data sheet).
