125W Pulsed Ku-Band Power Amplifier

Sophia Wireless

12.75-18.0 GHz Solid State Power Amplifier

Amplifier

Product Description:

The MPC8-1520 provides an unparalleled size, weight, & power combination. The Series has a multitude of configurations that can meet your specific needs. The models are defined by the Radar bands and optional features 09 - power supplies, and 10 - outdoor enclosure with forced air cooling. The features & options are ideal for Advanced Ku-Band radar systems in military airborne platforms.

Size: 11.1" x 4.5" x 3.1"
Weight: 5.1 lbs.

Performance Features:

Sophia's MPC8-1520 provides advanced radar systems with 125W of RF power and 50 dB of gain. The Pulse Switch (TTL controlled with coax trigger) eliminates RF output power noise during "off" periods, and the internal 47,000 micro-farad capacitor bank reduces thermal management requirements and enables excellent power efficiency.

Temperature compensation circuitry minimizes gain & power variations, and the F&R power monitor supports system calibration & reverse power protection. Smart sensors in the RF assembly provide thermal protection, and the monitor & control circuit provides critical performance status for initial system integration and field use.

Monitor & Control Functions:

The monitor & control processor interfaces with a host computer. All voltage, current, power, and temperature sensors are read through this interface, including forward & reverse power monitoring. The RS422 port communications run at 9600 or 38400 baud, 8-bit word, no parity, and 1 stop bit.

Configuration Options:

Sophia's MPC8-1520 comes in two configurations: a [module based] component housing as shown above and a [system based] outdoor enclosure with integrated cooling (see outdoor SSPA data sheet). Additional options include: AC/DC power supplies.
