SubscribeS-530 Overview
The Expandable S-530 A/G shelter is one of the DOD Standard Family of Tactical Shelters. In its transport (unexpanded) configuration it has exterior dimensions of 12'-2"L x 7'-6"W. Two shelters are linked together to form a single larger shelter. Each shelter provides a roof or floor panel and a side wall to the expanded shelter resulting in a single enclosure that is three times as large as either shelter by itself.
The interior dimensions of this expanded shelter are 11'-5"L x 20'-4"W x 6"-9" H. Six soldiers can accomplish the assembly of this shelter in 45 minutes. Its construction of aluminum skins over a Nomex honeycomb core results in a durable shelter suitable for such uses as mobile maintenance or repair facilities.
