CTR Security Training Academy has put together a level 3 programme through the Open College Network covering Self Defence Training. Now before you start thinking, 'not another Self Defence Training Course', this system is different. It is a Reality Based Self Defence Training Course called R.A.I.D which stands for Rapid Action Initiated Defence which means 'the ability to react defensively, proactively and rapidly without voluntary conscious thought to technical application'.
It is a tried and tested self defence training system that has been proven in life threatening situations in hostile environments. This concept is now considered one of the few conceptual systems that have no single martial arts philosophy.
By learning our basic principles and concepts based on the body's natural reactions, emotions and movements, the student is able to understand and perform basic but effective self defence skills in a relatively short period of instruction. With time, practice and testing, the student is able to attain a very high level of proficiency within a short time span.
This new approach to modern self defence and conflict management is taught under British Standards by qualified trainers (C&G 7302 & C&G 1886, Cert Ed), all of which have been certified under RSD and other systems. It has become a sought after system which has been taken on by the public health sector, professional security sector, local government authorities and the private individual.
