SubscribeAs we start a New Year, I want to thank you for making 2006 a great year for Scandinavian Micro Systems.
It was an exciting finish with many orders for our new products:ScanDisplay® - CruiseMonitor, iCruise Monitor; ScanRepeaters™ - SR03-01 (NMEA to Synchro Converter), SR01-02 (Third Generation Lehmkuhl Heading Repeater) and SR2-01 (Optical Bearing Unit). It's even more encouraging that on the first day of business of 2007 we received orders.
Tremendous interest was generated in two other areas this past year with the start of our new Outsourcing Services division to help provide assistance to software solutions andFleetPlanner™ software a planning tool that can help develop and simulate cruises/shipping routes costs and expenses.
SMS-Outsourcing Services was set up to provide cost effective tech support and solutions to the pressing issues faced in IT Departments. Upgrading does not necessarily mean a smooth transition. Our Outsourcing Services Team is in place and ready to help on a moment's notice.
We appreciated the positive comments from companies who have taken advantage of this cost effective service. One IT professional stated it was like having an additional department "we can count on when the work piles up."
FleetPlanner™ will be seeing some changes thanks to the comments from Port Captains and people involved with cruise planning. The one noticeable change will be the use of Navigational Charts when planning a cruise/route. You can also expect more features thanks to this valuable input. This is one software program for you to investigate to make life easier when planning, estimating and knowing where the profits are.
2007 promises to be an exciting year. We look forward to meeting you either in your office or ours or at one of the conventions/conferences we plan on attending and/or exhibiting.
