Modern naval forces are subject to aircraft and missile threats that are continually evolving. An integrated and adaptive defence is the answer.
Against the most dangerous threats (high diving and sea skimming missiles, aircraft, helicopters, etc.) EMPAR multifunction radar simultaneously performs 3D detection, multiple target tracking and missile guidance for self-defence, local area defence and medium range defence.
EMPAR performance has been proved for two years through the very successful launch pad tests held in Europe. EMPAR worked perfectly in terms of target discrimination (in a clutter environment), missile guidance and target interception.
Its stereed phased array beams, electronically scanned and stabilised, as well as its digital MTD (Moving Target Detection) and extensive ECCM capabilities represent the highest leading technologies applied to this radar which guarantees total ship protection.
EMPAR multifunction radar is based on state of the art technology and it has been tested by the Italian Navy on board of Carabiniere class frigades.
Ipn/S Combat Management Systems
The combat management system (CMS) has a very important role in the functional integration of the combat system. It gathers, correlates and filters data and information coming from the ship and co-operating forces sensors to compile, maintain and clearly display the tactical situation.
The CMS is designed using modern software and hardware technologies. The human interfaces are particularly studied to optimise the use of multipurpose consoles and satisfy the high demanding requirement for reduced manning.
This comprehensive range of products and the extensive experience of integrating them within overall combat systems ensure the best demanding operational requirements.
