Fermont has focused its resources on supplying military generator sets, auxiliary power units (APU) and other power equipment to the United States Armed Forces and other government agencies. As a result, Fermont has become the leading designer and largest supplier of Tactical Quiet Generator Sets to the US military.
An example of Fermont's leading design and engineering capability is the 3KW Tactical Quiet Generator (TQG) Set. Emphasis was placed on reducing weight and noise for the safety of the soldier without sacrificing reliability and performance. This is the first generator set produced for the U.S. Army with a Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) and variable speed technologies. Several thousand 3KW TQGs have been manufactured by Fermont under the Army's first production contracts for these products.
Pivotal Power participates in major U.S. and Canadian defense programs involving land, sea and air applications. Our power conversion products cover a wide range of application including power backup systems, embedded multiple output power supplies, high power starting equipment, and intelligent monitoring and control systems. These products are used in naval combat ships, land vehicles and aircraft to power mission critical applications. In support of our products, Pivotal Power also offers complete logistic support services.
Our knowledge and experience of highly reliable, affordable power conversion technology is facilitating our present phase of strategic growth. Radian was awarded the 10-year Deployable Power Generation & Distribution System (DPGDS) contract by the U.S. Air Force (USAF) in March of 1998. The purpose of DPGDS is to provide US military with an airlift deployable and/or over the road, highly reliable, and logistically affordable electrical power system of minimum size, weight, and fuel usage, thus reducing the size of aircraft and number of sorties necessary to deploy and sustain operations. This system affords U.S. military field commanders unparalleled flexibility in meeting a wide array of operational contingencies.

UPSI designs, manufactures and sells true on-line UPS systems and power conditioning equipment that meet the demanding standards of portability and functionality in hazardous and harsh environments around the globe.
UPSI focuses on transportable, deployable, rack-mount, single-phase units in the 650VA (volt amperes) to 6000VA power range. Since its founding in 1989, UPSI has fielded in excess of 15,000 units in over 100 countries and its equipment has been used extensively in several military engagements including Desert Storm, Panama, Somalia, Bosnia and Kosovo.
