SubscribeC&M Corporation was recently chosen by a major military supplier as a partner on the development and production of a unique seaworthy coil cord for the United States Navy.
The principal design requirements for the cord include the capability to transmit power and sophisticated electronic signals within the same cable construction while meeting on-site reliability standards. In addition to withstanding the difficult at-sea environment, the cord had to be designed and constructed to remain viable after being subjected to continuous seawater pressure at significant depths.
Coil Cords and Military Cable Solutions
The finished product dimensions required development of a process to allow several individual retracted bodies to be maintained within each individual cord. With extensive experience in custom cable solutions for the defense and military market, C&M was selected based on its ability to integrate design resources and cable manufacturing capabilities, significant materials background, as well as its expertise in coil cord fabrication.
