The NBC universal detection vehicle
The Detect 1000 detection vehicle is used to measure biological and chemical contamination, as well as radioactivity. The integrated weather measurement station records the relevant weather data and evaluates it with the help of a computer.
This enables three-dimensional calculation and electronically forecasting of the spread of contamination. The calculation of the height of a so-called poison cloud is particularly important when there are high-rise buildings in the affected area.
Detect 1000 is gas-proof. An NBC air-conditioning system creates overpressure inside the vehicle that prevents (contaminated) external air from getting in. In the event of contamination, the incoming air can be directed into the inside of the vehicle through special NBC protective filters on a charcoal base. The version based on commercial components and modules makes maintenance a simple matter.
Detect 1000 is also used in civil defence.
