The MM2 represents a new generation of quadrupol mass spectrometers with a membrane inlet. Equipped with flexible accessories such as the surface probe and the gas chromatograph with thermo desorption all tasks for chemical detection can be easily fulfilled.

Introducing a novel vacuum system reflects the trend to high-performance but lightweight detection equipment and the application of current micro-controller based technologies for instrument control. With a volume of 40 litres and a weight of 30 kg a milestone in GC/MS technology has been achieved. The system is able to identify any organic chemical from any medium (soil, water, air) within 15 minutes via complimentary sampling techniques. Specifications and performance are not limited to a selected portion of chemicals. The system can be integrated into vehicles or networks of sensors. Training, operation and maintenance is reduced to the lowest possible level whilst the reliability is increased.
