As well as offering diesel engines and transmissions for land forces, Caterpillar Defence Products also supplies Perkins and Caterpillar engines and generator sets to naval shipbuilders.

A Perkins 3008-powered emergency diesel generator set, rated at 250kWe, is used on the Royal Navy's Duke Class (Type 23) frigate and Sandown Class single role mine hunter. Perkins engines rated at up to 600kW (800bhp) have also been supplied for propulsion of small patrol and auxiliary naval vessels.

Our team at Caterpillar Defence Products works closely with the international Caterpillar dealer network to ensure that the full engine range, with power output from 50 to 7200kw (67-9655bhp) is available to shipbuilders - wherever they are operating.
