Comparison between SA and DA/SA mechanisms
After chambering the initial round, the pistol is ready to shoot in SA mode. This gives a much reduced SA trigger pull that enables the operator to achieve greater accuracy and reduced reaction time. With DA/SA pistols, the hammer can be released to the decocked position by activating the decocking lever. The pistol will now operate in the DA mode (i.e. the shooter experiences a longer, more significant trigger pull effort as the hammer must be re-cocked during firing). This enables the user to carry the weapon with a round safely chambered, as it may only be fired with a deliberate pull of the trigger.

No less than five safety devices :
Manual safety : allows the weapon to be carried fully safe
Visible hammer : shows whether the weapon is cocked or not
Half-cocked notch : catches the hammer if it slips (when cocking)
Firing pin safety : prevents inadvertant firing if the weapon is dropped
Magazine safety : disengages the trigger when the magazine is removed.

GP SFS Safety Fast Shooting, 9 x 19 mm NATO
The best of both worlds
The GP-SFS is the only patented system in the world that combines the performances of the single action and double action pistol mechanisms without any of their disadvantages. Carrying the pistol safely with a cartridge in the chamber is the basic principle of the GP-SFS. The hammer is permanently in the double action mode, although the weapon always fires in single action position, allowing the shooter to fire quickly and be more accurate from the first shot.
By simply pushing the hammer forwards (with a finger or any other piece of equipment), three automatic safeties are activated in a single movement. The slide is then locked, the trigger blocked and the hammer is maintained in the forward ‘fast shooting’ position.
All safeties are deactivated at the same time and the hammer is automatically recocked when pulling the ambidextrous ergonomic lever with the thumb. The trigger remains light and precise, while the first shot is immediate
