Contract Awarded to Ultra Electronics Tactical Communication Systems for Supply of Radio Spares

Contract amendment valued at $12,900,000 for the supply of radio spares and ancillary products for the U.S. Army’s WIN-T Program.

Ultra Electronics Tactical Communication Systems Division (Ultra TCS) announces the award of contract modifications valued at more than US $12,900,000 through the Canadian Commercial Corporation, for the supply of spares and other products associated with its  AN/GRC-245  HCLOSTM radio, for the U.S. Army’s WIN-T Program under contact no. DAAB07-98-C-F505.

“We are honoured that the U.S. Army continues to show confidence in our products and our ability to support its missions.” states Alan Barker, president of Ultra Electronics Tactical Communication Systems Division, adding “The HCLOSTM radio is our flagship product and we’re proud of its record and market acceptance as the most successful tactical Line-Of-Sight (LOS) high capacity radio on the market today.” 

The AN/GRC-245A HCLOSTM radio is a state-of-the-art Software Defined Radio (SDR) using the Software Communications Architecture (SCA) open framework. The HCLOSTM radio is currently shipping with 16Mb/s traffic capacity, but is software-upgradeable to 34Mbps full-duplex capacity. Ultra-TCS has already delivered thousands of HCLOSTM radios to North American and International customers, many of which are operating in the most demanding battlefield conditions. Many thousands more HCLOSTM radios are on order.
