The following article contains information about the DCS group's Camp Concept.
Four point camp modeling
The Camp concept is engineered around a four-point model:
1. Design 2. Build 3. Operate 4. Dismantle
Modular and scalable
Due to a modular and scalable concept both military and civilian camps may be served. The concept complies with the requirements of the Danish Army and other armies.
Covers military and civilian needs
The layout of a camp can easily be adopted to cover any needs for military as well as for civilian users whether construction companies or international relief organisations.
Camp infrastructure
The concept for infrastructure is modular and includes roads for heavy vehicles, pedestrians and emergency use. Separate areas are allocated for parking, helipad, sewage, water and electricity supply.
Prefabricated structures
Prefabricated containers are used for accommodation, offices, dining hall, welfare activities, toilets, baths, hospital, guard etc.
Camp protection
Protection includes shelters, a defence wall made of gabions and with illumination as well as a perimeter fence to give distance.
Facility management
- Camp operations
Operation of the camps include supply of all provisions, preparation and serving of all meals with full kitchen and canteen facilities, a Hot Dog Stand and a PX shop. - Maintenance
Maintenance of the camps during the running period is undertaken by skilled supervisors and technicians in a combination of local staff and expatriates.
After use the containers can be dismantled and transported to another camp or be stored at depots for later use.
