SubscribeThe MSK5042 is a high efficiency switching voltage regulator offering an output current of up to 4 amps continuous over its full operating temperature range of -55 to +125 degrees C.
Its input voltage range is 4.5 volts to 30 volts and the output voltage is adjustable from 1.2 volts to 5.5 volts, making the 5042 ideal for today’s lower voltage, point of load power supply requirements.
Efficiency for this device is an impressive 95% at 5 volts out, dropping to a still impressive 86% at 1.5 volts output.
Other features include a programmable soft start, allowing the user to control how quickly the output comes up to regulation, and a very low 2.5 milliamp quiescent current which helps reduce internal power dissipation.
The MSK5042 is housed in a metal, hermetic flatpack measuring 1.25 x 1.25 x 0.275 inches and is available in industrial and fully compliant military grade versions for use in aerospace and defense applications.
