It is a very powerful tool for Whole Life Cost calculations and analysis. The first version was released in September 2003.
CATLOC is a generic sophisticated flexible LCC tool with results & report functionality that makes it just as easy to assess cost totals at different aggregate levels as to drill down into details in search of cost drivers.
CATLOC is a general and flexible Life Cycle Cost tool with outstanding analysis capabilities.
CATLOC has been designed to handle any kind of LCC analysis, for example:
- Comparison of system design alternatives
- Comparison of logistics concepts
- Identification of cost drivers
- Long term planning and budgeting
- Selection among competing contractors
- Decisions about replacement of ageing equipment
- Cost monitoring of active programmes
Different organisations and different studies may require different cost models. CATLOC can be tailored to any user defined cost model, as the cost model is part of the input. To simplify the effort of building, editing and tailoring a cost model, a set of standard templates are supplied.

The five dimensional nature of CATLOC’s data model makes it possible to slice the cost aggregates in any relevant way, including the distribution of costs over time. CATLOC has a very similar user interface to OPUS10 and SIMLOX.
Just as Systecon’s other products, CATLOC is compatible with Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP. It is ODBC compatible for easy interface with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Oracle, etc.
