22 participants from all over Europe will put their capabilities on the test in the first version of the C-ELROB (Civilian European Land Robot Trial) to be held in Monte Ceneri, Ticino, Switzerland.
From August 13th to the 16th in Switzerland
This event was organized with the idea to bridge the gap between users, industry and research in the field of robotics, especially in the fields of security, fire brigades, civil protection and disaster control.

From August 13th to the 16th, the participants will present their robotic creations in different scenarios in order to demonstrate that they are capable to provide protection, security and rescue to the population in case of any critical situation such as a terrorist attack, massive accident or natural disaster.
Those scenarios are:
- Non Urban: Nuclear Biological Chemical (NBC) Search area for hazardous materials.
- Urban: Incident with Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) on a crowded marketplace to improve situation awareness.
- Combined operation of Unmanned Ground Vehicles and Unmanned Air Vehicles: Fire and NBC incidents, search area for suspicious places.
- Autonomous reconnaissance on urban and/or non-urban route: Security patrols.
Among the 22 participants are academic researchers and industrial developers such as: Macroswiss from Switzerland, Jacobs University of Bremen from Germany, IdMind from Portugal, University of Oulu from Finland, Smith Engineering Ltd., from the UK and many more.
