L-3 Communications WESCAM (L-3 WESCAM), a wholly owned subsidiary of L-3 Communications, announced today that it has established an International Service Center Agreement with Indra Sistemas, S.A, a Spanish Information Technologies and Defense Systems company, to create an industry-leading International Service Center (ISC) in Spain.
Equipped with the latest-generation technology, this facility is scheduled to open in July 2007.
Indra will be an authorized service center for WESCAM's MX-15, MX-15i and MX-15HD electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) imaging turrets, and will provide maintenance and support to turrets belonging to WESCAM's growing list of European customers located throughout Spain and the Iberian Peninsula. Current MX-15 customers in Spain include the Spanish Navy, Fisheries, Dirección General de Trafico, Forest Fire Fighting services (SAETA), Emergency Forces and Eurocopter Espana.

Indra's maintenance facility will offer customers a greater level of service support. With direct access to local maintenance facilities, engineering services, qualified technicians, loaner systems and on-site service, the quick repair-response created by this center will further decrease service turnaround time.
The addition of Indra as an ISC brings WESCAM's off-shore maintenance facility count to seven. Strategically located facilities can be found in: Cheltenham, UK; Telford, UK; Cairns, Australia; Kamakura, Japan; Santa Rosa, California; Roma, Italy; and Madrid, Spain.
"Being close to our customers is a key priority for WESCAM," said Rod Till, Director of Customer Service. "Our goal is to listen to their needs and provide the most responsive level of customer service possible. The partnership WESCAM has formed with Indra will directly address market expectations and further elevate the success in Europe we've had with our MX®-Series of products."
