Ultra Electronics - Tactical Communication Systems Division (TCS) is now delivering its latest generation AN/GRC-245 Software-Defined radio to several Customers. The new 16Mb/s radio has a built-in multiplexer that supports both serial and Ethernet traffic for increased flexibility. It supports multiple waveforms to suit the different operational roles demanded of the product and is software upgradeable to 34 Mb/s. The AN/GRC-245 is the first high capacity tactical radio on the market using the open-standard Software Communications Architecture V2.2 core framework.
"We are pleased to announce to our Client communities that we are now shipping our newest generation 16Mb/s GRC-245 radios. There is a strong demand for this product and we have already secured a very large order backlog. The ability to upgrade to 34Mp/s by means of a software-only change is a benefit of the investment we have made to transform the GRC-245 to a Software-Defined Radio" according to Alan Barker, President of Ultra Electronics -Tactical Communication Systems.
