SubscribeFra Angelico has been able to carve itself a valuable niche within the marketplace by supplying the British Ministry of Defence and other European Ministries with a wide range of products lead by its director Elide Hodgson.
The company started small but was able to flourish because of the support it has received from its supplier and customers alike and now has a food and a tentage division.
Fra Angelico’s food division is a well established supplier to Defence Catering of components for their 24 hour ration packs and 10 man operation ration packs. Items supplied include pocket pack tissues, fruit flavoured sweets, beef pate, milk chocolate bars and dehydrated meals. The company’s concern over its eventual customers – the soldiers in the field – has always been paramount and it is continually developing new products that will give the soldier the required nutrients whilst not losing sight of taste.
Our tentage division was started approximately five years ago, when we became aware of the Ministry’s requirement for mosquito nets. We developed a freestanding net to meet the MoD’s requirement, which took into consideration not only the technical specifications but also the comfort of the soldier. From this we began to supply other items and now supply Battlefield Support with mosquito nets (both free-standing and cot mounted), tentage, wardrobes, sleeping bags and personal load equipment.
It is our company’s aim to supply our customers’ with the best possible product at the lowest prices, whilst never losing sight of the end user – the soldier. We are able to achieve this by employing the services of former army and MoD personnel who have the technical and ethical background required to achieve our goals. These experienced personnel, together with our director, Elide Hodgson, and dedicated staff (who have been working with Defence Ministries for over ten years) allow Fra Angelico to supply large contracts with ease and efficiency.
As well as tendering for MoD contracts, the company is constantly looking at the needs of the soldier ‘in the field’ and looking at developing innovative products, which we hope will meet with future requirements and improve solders comfort.
For the past three years Fra Angelico has been working with UK industries interested in tendering with European Defence Ministries. We are currently working with the Italian, German and Spanish Ministries in the food sector, developing a ration pack containing pouch meals.
We also assist UK companies interested in tendering with the Italian MoD for clothing and other items. In this regard we aim to take the expertise and experience of UK MoD suppliers to Europe.
In the future Fra Angelico aims to increase its range of products and services, whilst continuing to be one step ahead of this competitive market.
