Otis Technology received Silver Award for quality performance as a government contractor.

Otis Technology was honored by the Defense Supply Center Columbus as one of the government’s best suppliers at an award ceremony held during the 2007 Land & Maritime Supply Chains Business Conference Exhibition.

August 27-29, in Columbus, Ohio. Doreen Garrett, Otis President, accepted the award from James M. McClaugherty, SES, the DSCC Acting Commander, and Rear Adm. Henry B. Tomlin, III, SC, USN, Commander of Defense Supply Center Philadelphia.

This recognition means Otis Technology have supplied a product the government can be confident in using. Firms that qualify as Automated Best Value System award winners have met the stringent quality and delivery requirements established by the Defense Logistics Agency. The ABVS, a computerized system, collects a vendor's past performance data and translates in into a numeric score, ranging from zero to 100.

Bronze award accepted by Doreen.Otis Technology supplies gun care cleaning systems to the Department of Defense and other agencies. To be eligible, vendors must have shipped 50 or more contract line items for DSCC during a 12-month period.

To qualify for a Gold Award, a contractor must have a perfect score of 100. A score of 99.0 to 99.9 earns a Silver Award, and 98.0 - 98.9 earns a Bronze Award. Last year Otis earned the Bronze Award.

DSCC, located in Columbus, Ohio, is known to more than 25,000 military and civilian customers. DSCC teams with more than 6,000 suppliers of Land and Maritime weapon system parts. A field activity of DLA, which has headquarters in Fort Belvoir, Va., DSCC processes more than 7 million orders annually and accounts for more than $3 billion in annual sales.
