The DURO all terrain military tactical vehicle from General Dynamics Land Systems

Program name:

DURO

Product/Program Description:

The DURO is a highly mobile, all terrain military tactical vehicle, weighing approximately 8 tonnes. The name DURO stands for DUrable and RObust. Even in the most difficult terrain, the DURO drives safely and reliably in every situation.

With its uniquely designed modular construction, the DURO can be modified in many configurations to accommodate a range of applications in a single vehicle. Through the use of a variety of superstructures, the basic chassis-cab is suitable for a variety of missions including: Troop Transporter, Command and Control Vehicle, Logistics Center and Ambulance.

The DURO is available in both 4x4 and 6x6 models. Optional equipment includes a winch, Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS), air conditioning and a preheat unit.

The DURO is manufactured in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland and has been fielded in a number of armies around the world. The latest version of the DURO (the DURO IIIP) has included enhancements to the payload. These enhancements allow for the entire vehicle, not just the crew cab, to be offered in an armored version.
