Team Successfully Complete The Setting To Work Of The Uk Royal Navy’s Largest Integrated Cbrn Radial Filter System For Hms Ocean

PA is pleased to announce that working alongside a team of engineers from Babcock Marine (Devonport) Ltd that it has successfully completed, on schedule, the Setting to Work of the Integrated CBRN Radial Filter System for HMS Ocean.

This is the largest Setting to Work project undertaken on behalf of the Royal Navy and is equivalent to the work required to prepare four Type 23 Frigates.

The contract required Portsmouth Aviation to prepare its largest delivery to date of the NATO Standard Radial Filter System, which is now being installed into a number of Royal Navy vessels, including the Type 23 Frigate Class, the Type 45 Destroyer Class, and the Fort Class of ships.

PA won these contracts after supplying an innovative solution that provided significant cost-savings to the MOD for the supply of CBRN systems and which has established the company as the principal supplier of this technology to the Royal Navy, both for manufacturing and technical support.

This contract is another stage in the long standing and excellent working relationship that PA has with both Wellman Defence and the MOD, the leading partners in the MOD HESS contract. The Company has over 20 years experience in the design of NBC systems for Defence and UK Resilience and is a significant stakeholder and supplier to the Royal Navy. Portsmouth Aviation has developed this technology for the Homeland Security market and is a leading supplier of systems for building and mail handling equipment.
