Endorsement of the Cinch Rope Lock

Networks Enterprises, Inc.

Endorsement of the Cinch Rope Lock.

1. The Shelters Systems Team under the direction of PM Force Sustainment Systems conducted testing of performance characteristics of the present (Dog Bone) Tent Line Slip, NSN 8340-00-205-2759 in comparison with the Cinch Rope Lock, NSN 4030-01-477-0524.

PM FSS endorses the use of the Rope Locks on shelter wind lines as an acceptable alternative in lieu of the present “dog bones” after passing the 80 MPH wind tunnel test, and the 45 degrees below 0 impact testing.

Further testing will be conducted with the rope locks under real conditions at he PM FSS Force Provider Base Camp Test and System Integration site at Ft Polk, LA to collect data on the long-term assessment of their utility.

  • LoadTamer Cargo Net - which safely restrain cargo in/on combat vehicles, trucks/trailer from bouncing/shift in or blowing out of the cargo area.
  • Quickie Tie Downs – a rope ratcheting device providing positive rope locking restraint with a push button release. Uses include, but not limited to, securing tents to stakes, tarping any vehicle, tethering helicopter blades, ect. – quickly / securely versus present method of tying rope to vehicle(s).
  • Two Sided “Hook and Loop” – a superior way of managing cables and lights in shelters, and it may semi-permanently attached to the tent for continued ease of use.
  • We will not however, require that these devices be integral design features for any specification because we contract to a performance specification and doing so would be overly design prescriptive.
