SAFGate is a customizable suite of physical and elecztronic access control components designed to enhance security at entry points for civilian and military facilities. One version of SAFGate, called SMARTGate, has already been installed at U.S. Air Force bases across the continental United States.

We continually track the industry to keep in touch with the market. We maintain a demonstration laboratory so that we may show our customers the various products in operation prior to purchase and to test various configurations and combinations of equipment.
Facial Recognition
Facial recognition is a biometric technology with obvious appeal for a wide variety of security applications. Properly employed, facial recognition equipment can make a useful and reliable contribution to an overall security program. Radian is prepared to provide its customers with effective facial recognition solutions where appropriate.
Fingerprint Systems
Fingerprints have been used for more than a century in forensic applications to identify both the living and the dead. Recent advances in microcomputer technology have made biometric identification of persons using fingerprints feasible and economical.
Radian offers a variety of fingerprint-based products and technologies. Applications include forensic identification, access control to facilities, access control to information systems, and authentication of “smart card” credentials.
Hand Geometry
By combining a PIN code and a hand, Radian can help ensure our customers reliable access control to doors or other protected assets without the need for keys or cards. Radian has installed a number of hand geometry solutions at facilities ranging from the Pentagon to university sorority houses. In the latter case, the installations paid for themselves, as the house managers charge occupants a nominal service fee each term.
Iris Recognition
Iris recognition hardware uses the iris of the human eye as the data source for some 256 bytes of unique biometric data. This method of biometric identification is superior because, while identical twins can have identical DNA, they will not have identical irises. Iris recognition also has the following advantages:
- The most reliable biometric technology available today
- Least intrusive of biometric systems—no physical contactrequired
- Technology of choice for high-security portals
- Becoming cost-effective for lower-security environments as well
- Only biometric system that can function in a chemical orbiohazard suit environment

MSTAR Intrusion Detection and Surveillance (IDS)
The MSTAR Intrusion Detection and Surveillance System is a versatile, low power, ground surveillance radar. It provides wide area surveillance coverage up to 25 miles, night or day, and in all weather conditions. Its effectiveness has been demonstrated in both combat and peacekeeping missions. The MSTAR IDS is extremely reliable. MSTAR locates moving targets and uniquely classifies them as personnel, tracked or wheeled vehicle.
