Internationally General Dynamics Land Systems' most successful combat vehicle program is the Light Armored Vehicle (LAV).

MOWAG Piranha vehicle

Based on the MOWAG Piranha vehicle, Piranhas and LAVs have been exported to or licensed for production in 18 countries, including Australia, Canada, Denmark, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

A versatile combat vehicle, the LAV is adaptable to a variety of turret systems designed by Land Systems, including 25mm and 30mm turrets, a 120mm armored mortar system, a 105mm low-profile turret and an elevated TOW system.

The U.S. Army adopted a version called Stryker for its new Brigade Combat Teams. More than 7,000 Piranhas and LAVs are in service worldwide.
