Advanced Defence Materials operate blast and ballistic testing, statistical method and experimental design courses. Each course is available in three levels of difficulty to suit the needs of professional organisations during their employee development.
Advanced Defence Materials provide training courses aimed at professional and organizational development. Courses include:
- 08B1 Introduction to Blast and Ballistic Testing (L1)
- 08B2 Analysis and Interpretation Through Statistical Methods (L1/2)
- 08B3 Advanced Evaluation and Experimental Design (L3) (Blast or Ballistic)
Ballistic Analysis
Level 1 (L1) courses are ideal for those with limited knowledge within the field. Typical students may have recently joined the field from other professions in a technical role or technical sales personally wishing to expand their knowledge to use within their new professional career.
Level 2 (L2) look at the technical elements within the subject matter and provide updates on developments in the field discuss current issues and examine future challenges.
Level 3 (L3) is expert level aimed at government and industry experts it is run as a structured workshop environment.
Please note all non-governmental students are subject to police background checks. Courses will include meals and refreshments.
08B1 Introduction to blast and ballistic testing (L1)
This course takes place over a 3 day period, looking at why destructive testing is necessary, how to conduct destructive testing safely. Includes production, modification and use of test samples. The first day will be theoretical with the 2nd and 3rd day practical.
3 day residential course includes accommodation and food - £3145
08B2 Analysis and interpretation through statistical methods (L1/2)
Ballistic testing is a time consuming and expensive process. it is therefore important to be able to extract the maximum amount of useful information from any results generated. The course teaches various techniques used to quantify and characterise destructive testing results.
1 day theoretical course - £750
08B3 Advanced Evaluation and Experimental Design L3 (Blast or Ballistic)
Because of the empirical nature of testing it is important to carefully design any testing series.
Key aspects include:
- Reliability
- Repetition
- Accuracy
- Economic
- Efficient
- Flexible
The Advanced Evaluation and Experimental Design course addresses the scientific, practical and commercial aspects of experiment sign.
3 days residential - £3450
