SELEX Sistemi Integrati is awarded a contract in Hungary for new airport radar systems
SELEX Sistemi Integrati, a Finmeccanica company, has been awaurded a contract worth 3.6 million Euros by the Hungarian air navigation service provider, Hungarocontrol.
Primary and Secondary Airport Radar System
The delivery order consists of a primary radar system, ATCR-33S, and a secondary radar system, SIR-S, to be installed in Budapest at "Ferihegy" airport.
In addition, the company will also provide the customer with the necessary civil works to host the equipment, whose delivery is expected within August 2008.
The new radar systems will be integrated with the systems already in use - a primary (ATCR-33K) and secondary radar systems (SIR-M), previously provided by SELEX Sistemi Integrati for the same airport.
Airport Traffic Management and Air Defence Radars
The new supply will enable the customer to manage airport traffic with a high level of accuracy and completeness, guaranteeing major security over the Hungarian skies.
The agreement contributes to reinforcing SELEX Sistemi Integrati's presence in the Country, where the company has a long commercial tradition.
In fact, also in the air defence domain Hungary has relied on SELEX Sistemi Integrati's systems.
It dates back to 2002, a main contract for the supply of three FADR (Fixed Air Defence Radar), the fixed version of the RAT31/DL radar system, the most ever sold air defence system in the NATO area, in the last five years.
