The Defence Support Group (DSG), L-3 WESCAM's UK-based service centre will soon have the technology to offer an improved service to its customers throughout Europe, as part of investments to enhance the level of service provided.
L-3 WESCAM, a wholly owned subsidiary of L-3 Communications, announced that its service center in the United Kingdom, the Defence Support Group (DSG), will be adding additional technology and support capabilities to better service WESCAM's customers throughout Europe. The center's upgrades include the installation of a collimator and pixel mapping station, additional infrastructure and staff. These enhancements will improve the facility's quick
repair-response and further decrease service turnaround time.
“These additional investments ensure DSG can provide an expanded level of serviceto our customers in the U.K.and the rest of our European customer base," said Rod Till, director of customer service for L-3 WESCAM. "This added capability will ensure higher levels of equipment availability to our end-users and is a key element of WESCAM's increased focus on customer satisfaction and support."
DSG (formally ABRO) provides ongoing maintenance and support for WESCAM's growing MX™-Series of electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) imaging turrets. The relationship between WESCAM and DSGhas created a repair and service facility that offers customers an increased level of service - with direct access to local maintenance facilities, qualified technicians and on-site service.
WESCAM has created a visible international service footprint withcustomer support centers strategically located in Cheltenham, U.K.; Telford, U.K.; Cairns, Australia; Kamakura, Japan; Santa Rosa, Calif.; Rome, Italy; and Madrid, Spain, and Ontario, Canada. Servicing more than 1,200 systems worldwide and counting, WESCAM has the infrastructure in place to ensure continued expansion of Global Support Capabilities in the years to come.
