Competing with a number of well-known, international companies within the aerospace industry, NAMSA acknowledges Danish Aerotech's outstanding performance.
Danish Aerotech has been appointed ”Outstanding Component Source of Repair (SOR) 2003” by one of its long-standing customers, NAMSA, NATO’s Maintenance and Supply Agency, in cooperation with IAMCO, the agency responsible for the maintenance of NATO’s E-3A Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft.

“The purpose of our Source of Repair Recognition Program is to recognize when a company performs above and beyond the other companies”, says Rene Roy, Chief of NATO E-3A Component Maintenance.
The evaluation is based on a thorough, annual evaluation of all suppliers, who are judged on the QUALITY of the work performed, TURN AROUND TIME, and CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION. In two of the categories Danish Aerotech scored maximum points, and in the last one the assessment was 2.87 points out of 3 possible. In addition to these three categories, elements such as quantity, diversity and complexity of the repairs are also taken into consideration.

“You have actually been selected by the computer, based on the criteria we have set up together with NAMSA”, Deputy General Manager of IAMCO, Gérald Lejeune, told the employees of Danish Aerotech at the award ceremony. “The bad news”, he continued, “is that you will not be the best SOR next year. You cannot win two consecutive years, so we will have to look for another winner”.

Three years ago Danish Aerotech won the contract for maintenance of the pilots’ and radar technicians’ seats. Since then more than 150 seats have been to Karup for repair, thus ensuring full functionality and comfort for the crew on their missions. Furthermore, since May 2000 Danish Aerotech’s department in Ballerup have undertaken the repair of three different electronic subsystems for the E-3A AWACS; Computer Processor, Interface Unit, and Common Power Supply.

”On behalf of Danish Aerotech, I am honoured and proud to receive this award”, said Torben B. Jensen, Director of Aerospace Structures and Parts at Danish Aerotech, at the ceremony. ”Everyone involved in this programme have had a common focus on the customer, and today we receive the proof that this has paid off”.
Danish Aerotech specializes in production and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and electronic parts and subassemblies for aircraft and helicopters, modification and maintenance of aircraft and missiles, as well as integration of modular solutions for transport aircraft and helicopters. It has 75 employees in Karup and Ballerup.
