SELEX Sistemi Integrati, a Finmeccanica company, signed a contract with TELEDIFE (General Direction for Telecommunications, Information and Advanced Technologies).

The contract signed with TELEDIFE (General Direction for Telecommunications, Information and Advanced Technologies) is for the upgrade of the Radar Integration Systems (RIS), installed in many national air defence sites of the Italian Air Force.
The value of the contract is 8.3 million Euros
The programme will also involve Vitrociset company and will provide the replacement of equipments and software previously delivered by SELEX Sistemi Integrati and still in use in the air defence sites of the Italian Air Force.
The new deliveries will be equipped with consoles and upgraded interfaces which will improve the management, supervision, command and control of every sensor connected to every site, with any kind of sensor involved.
The equipments will also allow the extension of the number and types of radars to be linked to every centre without any change in the interface already in use.
WiMax Technology
The upgrade of the Radar Information Systems (RIS) is a first step towards a much wider programme of technological upgrade of the national radar systems, as indicated by the National Programme for the introduction of WiMax technology in Italy.
