Sennheiser Government Systems, a leading specialist in Active Noise Reduction (ANR) and avionic headsets, has teamed with Selex Communications to produce the WACH 900 (Warrior Advanced Capability Headset): a premium ANR and stereo talk through (STT) headset.

The WACH is designed for mounted / dis-mounted infantry and light combat vehicle crew. It provides clear communication and uses low power, which enables ANR to be used on and off the vehicle. It is light weight, comfortable and can be worn with a range of ballistic and protective helmets including PASGT, ACH, and MICH; can be used with a respirator and has advanced stereo talk-through capability to provide enhanced situational awareness for soldiers operating in battlefield conditions.

Sennheiser enjoys a unique position as an end-to-end electro-acoustics developer. Beginning with the transducer itself, Sennheiser designs and manufactures the critical components in the ANR gain-control circuit, ensuring the highest degree of noise reduction and stability available. The STT in the WACH is superior to competing systems because it is processed in true stereo - i.e. both channels together - so that the presentation to the user is as natural and representative of the impinging audio as possible.

The WACH 900 is of modular construction so that it can be rapidly reconfigured by the soldier / user for left or right side microphone / down-cable assembly; different down-cable assemblies for different intercoms and radios; and the advanced power management system within the WACH automatically detects the presence of intercom power to run the system and recharge batteries; or runs the headset ANR and STT using its own AA rechargeable or alkaline batteries.WACH 900 ANR / STT Headset
