CBRN Collective Protection Systems for marine applications from Portsmouth Aviation
PA can supply filter units for ships that operate in blue-water or littoral theatres. Tested to exacting military standards the equipment is tough and reliable. Our equipment has been supplied around the world to protect personnel and equipment from the sudden release of CBRN agents.
Radial Filter Unit
This is the system that is currently being fitted to the Type 45 Destroyer Class as well as being retro-fitted to the Type 23 Frigate Class. It has also been supplied for the Fort Class vessels and HMS Ocean. This is a high volume flow system, suitable for a wide range of ships and provides significant though-life cost savings. It is a very flexible equipment and can be provided as an Integrated or Modular system, as defined by the Customer. The system allows filters to be changed on-station improving operational capability.

No. 6/7 Air Filtration System
The No. 6/7 Air Filtration System is a self contained unit, which is eminently suitable for ships operating in a littoral environment. The unit occupies a small footprint on the vessel, which allows it to be easily fitted either during the initial commissioning of the ship, or as part of a retro-fit programme to enhance operational capability. It has been supplied for many of the UK Royal Navy minor war vessels, as well as a number of overseas navies.
All PA CBRN collective protection systems contain filters with the capability to remove fine particulate matter, including bacteria and a gas filter that has the capability to remove chemical and radiac warfare agents.
