The new way to perform at the right level is to organize on site production and distribution rather than rely on vulnerable long distance transport.

In disaster or specific peacekeeping scenarios, the optimum form and shape to deliver the water may not be a bottle but a pouch.ContenO, the Belgium based manufacturer of containerized solutions for Armed forces, Peacekeeping organizations and Humanitarian Aid teams, now can offer both to meet any specific requirement.

Mobile Drinking Water: A Challenge

A number of obstacles hinder the supply of safe mobile drinking water in a reliable manner to mobile teams in the field. Imagine the logistic impact of twenty trucks carrying water bottles in terms of storage space, not to mention the availability of trucks and the support to keep them going. Think of the extreme expenditure in terms of fuel, trucks, and personnel involved!

Consider the ecological footprint. And what about safety during transport, both from a technical and a hostility point of view? Not exactly the best example of short, safe and direct supply lines…

Mobile Drinking WaterThe ContenO Smart Containerized Solution

Our smart mobile drinking water bottling plant eliminates all the obstacles. One 20-ft ISO container with a built-in bottle production, water filling, capping and labelling system delivering up to 36.000 litres a day of water a day does the job with one operator only. Alternatively a 40 ft ISO container with capacities up to 120.000 litres a day.

Operational in less than one hour. In a fully automatic operation mode. Link it with a water supply source and the challenge is defeated. If you need local purification, similar container based water purification solutions, be it via ultra filtration or reverse osmosis, complete the task.

Bottles or Pouches… It’s Your Choice

Depending on application and / or local conditions, users may prefer pouches.

The appropriate type of bottle can offer a sturdy, resealable and large volume solution, if that is what you need. Yet for many disaster type of situations, water in a handy pouch could be the better solution. “Handy” in these environments can be translated as more mobile, easier to carry, lower in weight, easier to portion the available amount of water, and… cheaper!

Imagine a small flexible pouch, easy to stow away, available in tear-off sub portions while still strong enough to resist ‘rough’ treatment. A good example of how specific shapes and types meet specific requirements in specific environments. Precisely the containerized solution ContenO designed to extend its product portfolio.

The Right Flexible Approach

In either very hot or extremely humid environments, refrigeration techniques for condensation based water production may be the best suited supply system. Here the users typically require lower water volumes which can best be offered in combination with water filled pouches.

The pouch-based solution follows the same principle applied for  the bottling solution: bottles move in horizontal displacement whereas pouches are filled in vertical displacement. Though handling of pouches differs from bottles, all the guarantees for flexibility and quality remain the same.

Similar to bottle production, pouch filling and sealing is performed in an environment allowing the customer to fill his “Packages”  to meet IWBA and FDA regulations.

The water is UV-treated eliminating germs, bacteria and fungi. Transport, filling and sealing is fully automated to eliminate contamination risks (No human contact).

The overall containerized  approach is a proof of professional construction: Filling and handling happens in a sterile positive air pressurized cabinet inside the insulated and dust free container, with of an operating room executed with durable and easy to maintain stainless steel and resin hardcore walls.

The mobile water pouch packaging solution can be ordered in different shapes: either mounted into a container, on a sturdy skid or on a rigid single axle trailer. That really makes it truly mobile to go wherever the need arises.
ContenO benefits from years of experience as a supplier of complete filling and packaging solutions for fluids and semi liquids.
