International TV audience is provided with heart rate information of the Nordic Combined skiers during the cross country skiing leg of the race this season. The service is used in all competitions this season and heart rates of the leading athletes have already been shown in real time.

Athletes are wearing heart rate belts of the Suunto t6 wristop computers and their heart rates are detected for TV graphics via special receivers, Suunto Team PODs, placed along the skiing track.

The Suunto Team POD heart rate detection system is available for teams and coaches in various sports. A coach is able to monitor the heart rates of multiple athletes during their exercise from a distance of up to 100 meters, for example on the side of or at a sports ground.

In addition to heart rate, the PC software that comes along the Suunto Team POD provides information of e.g. training effect and EPOC (Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption). Suunto Team POD enables real time monitoring and efficient training not only in skiing but also for example in football and fitness classes.
