Brugg Kabel AG
Category: Tactical Field Cable
BRUGG’s solutions are three different types of cables for such applications.
BRUmil Cable
The very robust and strong BRUmil cable, a very thin cable and therefore many more meters can be winded on the same reel compared to other cables, which may be an advantage in certain operations.
The BRUmil cable is constructed in the centre with a stainless loose tube surrounded by stainless steel wires and coated with a PUR sheath. This BRUmil cable is rodent proof; rats or mice cannot bite through this cable when it is laying in the field, an important point for critical missions. The BRUmil cable is very robust and has a very long life span, if it is treated properly during cable laying and retrieving it in the field. The BRUmil cables come with 2, 4 or 8 fibres and can be delivered on drums from approx. 50-5000 meters.
BRUtough Cable
The BRUtough cable, a very flexible cable for frequent operations, comes with two or four fibres and is in operation in short, medium as well as long distance applications, where flexibility is a must.
BRUpowermil Cable
The BRUpowermil cable is a hybrid cable containing four fibres in a stainless steel loose tube surrounded by two coaxial copper conductors, which are used for the transmission of power. With this unique BRUpowermil cable, that has all the features like BRUmil, power and data can be transmitted to a remote site using only one cable. Applications are for short and medium distances for the supply of remote equipment with data and power, e.g. 230 V AC or with an AC/DC converter. At the remote side a conversion from fibre to Ethernet is possible to attach several Laptop PC’s. Such a table distributor is shown in the picture below.
The above cables are delivered with all necessary deployment aids. Brugg’s Security & Defence division can supply customers with repair kits for repairing these cables, special measuring kits for controlling the cables and of course with customized trainings for all deployment and maintenance aspects.
