New Technical Design Solutions

Filters
The GSR embodies new particulate media to maximise protection against nuclear, biological and radiological threats. Following the most extensive technical assessment of vapour and gas filter media filter, GSR technology offers protection against both Chemical Warfare Agents and Toxic Industrial Chemicals (CWA and TIC's). The non-round shape of GSR filters provides superior integration.

Exhalation valves
Scott's patented in-line dual exhalation valve technology provides ultra low resistance in combination with the highest levels of protection.

Filter Connections
Two wearing positions maximise equipment integration and leak tight connections to simplify filter changing. The filter connection also incorporates a capability to provide interoperability with other nations' filters, as required by international performance standards.

Human factors integration
The single-piece wraparound visor, the high fluid intake capability, the interface with Individual Protection Equipment (IPE), the speech transmission system and the head harness design combine to provide a comfortable, low burden design that is preferred by wearers.

Face Sealing
Designs A new multiple edge primary seal, Scott's patented secondary in-line filtration technology and a unique design of fully sealing oronasal mask combine to provide groundbreaking levels of protection in combination with the highest levels of wearer comfort.

The ground-breaking specification for GSR has required the development of new fit testing and measurement methods.

These prove that the required performance is delivered to the user as they do their job in the field - not just as a lab measurement.
